NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia -- January 31, 2020 -- ION Solar LLC, a full-service solar provider, donated a premium solar system to Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, an organization dedicated to helping families build better lives in the communities they serve.

The solar system is being installed February 1, 2020 on the home recently completed for the affiliate’s 201st family. Habitat for Humanity strives to provide homes and opportunities to the deserving families with low to moderate incomes who have the ability to repay the monthly no-interest mortgage. ION Solar’s goal is to foster meaningful change in our communities by empowering families, organizations, and individuals with a clean energy alternative. They do this by providing families with a free solar system through the ION Earth program. A percentage of every solar system sold by ION Solar is used to donate a premium solar system to exceptional families and individuals.

“At ION Solar we aim to make giving back an imperative part of our company culture,” said ION’s Vice President Andy Marlowe. “ION employees donate their time and expertise to install all of our ION Earth projects. Providing this opportunity for our employees to give back has been a great opportunity for us to build connections and be engaged in our community.”
